A landmark creation: A car completely made of recycled materials

Vintage Car
We come across many boastful and humbug claims, made by inventors, which raises doubt on their sustainability. Some among them, however, truly inspire us with their genuineness and thinking out-of-the-box. One such genius, and literally a ‘junk’ on wheels, Stephen Crawford, a designer (and a former accountant) Stephen Crawford has comprehensively and rather ingeniously managed to create an automobile, exclusively from re-cycled materials. This invention can be recorded as literally a ‘junk on wheels’. Based on the venerable 1924 rally model, Hispano Suiza rally model, Stephen took nearly 3 years to complete the fascinating design in his own personal workshop, Read Farm. The 21 ft (6.4 m) long wooden conception is built entirely by using old mahogany window frames of mahogany; the engine paraphernalia is designed from scrap materials, while the headlights are built adroitly conceived from cake tins, but which are adroitly conceived. The creator designer also ensured, keeping in view that given the nature of the materials used, that the fuel-efficient petrol powered car surprisingly gives a smooth and carefree jaunty ride with credible acceleration.

Influenced by the Hispano Suiza at a very early age, Stephen Crawford, hailing from Yorkshire, has always envisaged to built a car in compliant with inspired by the racing model. Now after his retirement as an being a retired accountant, he could finally chase took his dream run and successfully managed to finish the grandiose end product. He said:

To the untrained eye, nobody can tell it’s made from scrap materials. It’s remarkably similar to a modern car, and believe it or not, it’s very smooth; there are no rattles and bangs. It drives very well. It’s got pretty good acceleration as it’s got a fairly large engine in it.

This creation marks a great landmark in our effort to preserve the nature and maintain ‘greenery’. Well from us green folk, Kudos to the
designer and certainly in our book, this car makes its mark in the very upper echelons of sustainability.
