If I were to tell you that this article is about a strange buy in a Spiderman costume who zooms about on an electric bike, you’d probably laugh at me. Fact is, though, that IS exactly what the article is about. Now before your sides start splitting, let me mention there’s a major speed record being broken in here. That got your attention, didn’t it?
The strange man in question is Shawn Lawless, and the electric bike in question is the Lawless EV Racing Rocket, armed with a Megawatt battery that clocks a sweet 1611hp. The Virginia Sports Park saw this insane electric powered drag-bike, with Lawless astride it, clock a whopping 185.46mph in a paltry 7.246 seconds. Sure, he was dressed up, as always, in a Spiderman costume, but he was going really, really fast, so we won’t complain.
What’s more is that the Lawless Rocket beat Chip Yates’ previous record, while using a fourth of the tarmac that was used earlier, although it came around 5mph short in terms of the top speed. Still, it just goes to show, that you don’t need gas guzzling petrol engines to go really, really fast.
