Ciel is a French word which means sky. So, Cadillac has said it loud and clear, their car is made to reach the sky. And to tell the truth, it doesn’t disappoint. About the ride:
I would like to add from the start that it is still a concept car. There is no word on production yet, but we all hope that we will see this beauty on road someday. General Motors is trying hard to bring back the Cadillac glory of the old, and has decided to enter the field which is currently owned by the much hyped Rolls Royce. This car aims to shake the supremacy which the Rolls is so proud of. It has all the things necessary to do that. When it was unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, California, on 18 August 2011, there was a flutter of emotions, and every car enthusiast had a feast before their eyes, and they just couldn’t stop gazing at this art on four wheels.
With a convertible four seater, it relies heavily on functions and form. The engine is a 3.6 liter, twin turbocharged V6 delivering 425 hp. Powered with a lithium ion battery, it is ready to tear the roads. This car is more of a journey car, and has enough room for two couples to comfortably sit, and laze around. The front doors open normally while the back doors are rear hinged, and as there is no B-pillar, when they open, the beautiful interiors are in full view. With a wheelbase of 125 inches, it has enough room for the kids to jump around and still not feel cramped. There is a center console which runs along the entire length of the passenger compartment. Each passenger can entertain himself as the console features an online infotainment system for entertainment on the move. You can see that the car is high on luxury and comfort.
Interiors:
The interiors are elegant, more of a classy feel rather than the snazzy futuristic designs which the concept cars have nowadays. The plush upholstery signifies the importance of simplicity as being classy, and spacious as being comfortable. The wood on the doors, instrument panel, console, and front seatbacks is Italian olive wood. The windshield designs, the beautiful Cabernet color, the shield grill, and the vertical lighting system, all are given by Cadillac engineers.
One can’t be sure if the production will start soon, but one thing is clear, that whenever it will start, it will create a dent in all other luxury car makers market, unless they come with a stupendous design.
