K-Tect insulated wall system helps conserve energy

K-Tect Panels

K-tect Sustainable Building Systems has come up with a wall system, like rSTUD, yet different and more comprehensive. The new structural insulated panels provide the best thermal efficiency, improved cost savings and expanded durability. To improve thermal efficiency and to control noise K-tect included the extraordinarily reliable and effective construction material, that is, light gauge which is a metal stud frame with insulation in a thermally broken assembly.

K-tect opted to choose the expanded polystyrene (EPS) in the core, which has been certified by GreenGuard in two categories: Greenguard Indoor Air Quality and Greenguard Children & Schools. EPS has no chemicals and will not break down over time, hence provide durability. K-tect panels resist natural disasters, mold, mildew, moisture, insects, fire, rust and wrapping.

And also both the frame and core can be recycled, and the system may contribute towards the several points in the LEED green building certification system. The interior walls, exterior walls, roofs and floors of K-tect, which is being made in Las Vegas, Nevada and Brownsville, Texas is ideal for use in residential buildings. K-tech also eliminates thermal bridging by using energy efficient, prefabricated structural metal stud building system, resulting in a strong, lightweight and 100 percent recyclable system.
