With a pandemic of an influenza-type feared by experts, and the H5N1 avian flu virus seeming to be closer than any other virus to cause such a global wave of disease, the World Health Organization says there is a global shortage of medical equipment such as masks, gloves and gowns.
If couldn’t for bird flu pandemic, the researchers have come up with a solution to this shortages of medical equipment across the globe. Perhaps, a welcome relief for the medical fraternities, if not for the medical equipment-manufacturers — U.S. researchers had come up with a low-tech and an eco-friendly solution to infections.
It is a mask made out of a T-shirt! The T-shirt made mask fits comfortably over the face, filtering potentially infectious particles out, as informed by the team at the University of Pittsburgh.
This mask is not only simple and locally made, but is easily washable and is eco-friendly as is a recycled product.
