Beijing roads get their first clean fuel buses

The environmental-friendly fuel cell buses have started plying on the streets of the Beijing city. The buses will not only reduce the problem of pollution, but also power shortage.

Named DaimlerChrysler, the emission-free buses were bought by the grants from the United Nations, which are given to help China in researching and developing eco-friendly vehicles.

Initially three buses are laid on the roads and will be running from 9 am to 3pm during weekdays. It will follow a route of 18.2 kilometers through the northwest suburbs, from the North Gate of the Summer Palace to Wudaokou.
