Disused Tube carriages being turned into studio space!

recycling by village underground

Various obsolete Tube carriages in London — lying disused for years — are dumped to just add to the permanent landfill, as most of the parts are non-degradable. To find a better use of these unused Tubes, a new charity is helping the company ‘Tube Lines’ to recycle the six old obsolete Jubilee line carriages into workspace for start-up creative businesses.

These carriages were removed from sidings in Uxbridge and taken for cleaning for reusing. Thanks to Tom Foxcroft of Village Underground for approaching Tube Lines about recycling these once carriages of little demand – contributing both to the environment and community.
