Biocardel Vermont LLC is building the largest bio-diesel fuel plant in New England. The company will be producing fuel from ‘soybean’. To build the plant, the Biocardel Inc. and Guilmax Inc. of Quebec received a loan-approval of $645,355 from the Vermont Economic Development Authority.
The facility’s site plan has been approved on Nov. 15, by the Swanton Planning Commission. The company is planning to extract biodiesel not just from soybean, but also from sunflower and canola oil.
The low-emission, alternative fuel will be used to power diesel engines and oil-fired furnaces.
