Increasing emission of carbon dioxide has lead to gran hose effect and air pollution. So the British government has pressurized the industry to combat pollution and arouse the awareness of the consumers.
Under this latest green initiative took by Tesco, it has decided install world’s biggest roof-top solar panel. For this the company has made a contract worth $13 billion Los Angeles-based Solar Integrated Technologies that will be installing the solar panels on the roof of Tesco USA’s new distribution center in Riverside, California.
This biggest solar panel will provide a fifth of the depot’s power supply, and save 1,200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Looking at the initiative other big names like Marks & Spencer have also joined the cause and have announced to spend 200 million pounds to make sure a line up of biodegradable or compostable clothing and packing and has also ensured proper dumping of waste.
Both these move will surely arouse the interest of the customers towards preserving the environment.
