The stagnating housing market has added to the worries of some analysts who fear about rising interest rates as well as widespread subprime mortgage. However, green constructions can surely change this trend to the favor of the analysts. Green consciousness is spreading and one of the reasons for this is the increase in the cost of energy required for basic needs.
Green houses mean houses that have been built by designers and builders who commit to minimizing waste, improving building’s efficiency and using sustainable and recycled products. Living in such homes not only proves to be cheaper but also gives you a mental satisfaction that you are not polluting the atmosphere.
Walter Molony, a spokesperson for the National Association of Realtors believes that adding green features in homes might not just help homeowners to stand out from the competition but also can change the trends of the market.
Energy-efficient buildings have shown a great promise. More than 97,000 homes have been built and certified by voluntary green building programs around the U.S. since the mid-1990s, this represents a 50% hike since the earlier survey conducted by the group.
A number of realtors have also stated that customers now themselves ask for more energy-efficient homes, in which living cost is not as high as it is in other conventional homes.
Green homes and green apartment complexes are the need of the day and once properly deployed they can surely make the environment clean and our Earth a better place to live in.
