We might talk of various advancements in lighting technology and every such device promises to provide light that is as close to what nature has given us. Still to be honest we have to state that no invention till now has been able to replicate the beauty of nature and the light provided by the sun.
Underground Subways are the places which remain deprived of natural sunlight, making them nothing more than a dull place where it’s hard to spend even a few minutes. Now no more of this as a student’s project will make you feel better at an underground subway so that you can easily wait for hours for your train. The project named Subway Light Project and has been designed by a Parsons’ student named Caroline Pham. The project also won the first place in the school’s 2007 Sustainable Design Review. The concept uses sunlight capture devices and fiber optic cables to channel sunlight into the enclosed corridors of the subway.
The concept design encourages biophilia and, in effect, promotes energy-saving technology while providing sunlight to sun-deprived underground subways. It would also be used to illuminate windows and sitting areas.
