Celebrities at LA fashion week had a different experience on the opening night. Instead of walking the red carpet, they were walking Green!

A precursor to the LA fashion week, EcoNouveau premiered on Sunday evening. A complete show stealer, in the spotlight were innovative eco fashion.

Londoner Gary Harvey, New Yorker Bahar Shahpar, and LA local Amanda Shi showcased their Spring/Summer ’08 collection using organic, recycled materials and processes.

Amanda Shi’s sleek and simple designs made a call to the entire world; a call to respect Earth and its resources. Global Fairyland, made from organic cotton, bamboo and recycled cashmere in soft pastels radiated the natural elegance.

British designer Harvey experimented with garbage materials. A beautiful reconstruction of the garbage dumps, ripped models boogied on the ramp wearing dresses made from plastic bags and newspapers.

The show was a stunning presentation of fashion that is substantial enough to go green.

Much admired by 1500 international press, buyers, eco conscious Celebes and influencers; it aimed at making greener fashion choices stylish, accessible and intelligent.

Inside Vibiana, the redesigned cathedral now turned celebrity event space, models cat walked to melodic rhythmic tunes and heavy beats of bongo, giving the entire atmosphere an energizing natural feel.
