Here is the future of transportation, or so I hope. I have been a big fan of the segway. It is clean, environmental friendly, is surprisingly quick for what it looks like & has wonderful maneuverability. It gets you though the traffic & solves the problem of parking. If you office is not too far away then this is the vehicle to use. But I still haven’t told the best part of it. It just is damn good fun, plain & simple.
Now the segway technology has moved a step ahead with the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering & Computing bringing out the latest segway that involves using a fuel-cell. After some thorough research, they have developed a segway that is powered by a fuel-cell. Now we all know that the fuel cell technology is the way in which automotive design & technology is evolving itself. This field has enormous potential for research & development. Now thanks to some brilliant men at this university, it has made its way to the segway.
So what are the perks of this latest development, you ask? Well, for starters, it increases the run-time of a segway from 20% to 90%. That is a huge increase, if your segway can run for 2-3 hours before this after one charging session, now it can last full 9-11 hours! This technology also makes the whole process a lot greener. The fuel cell, which has the dimensions of your coke can, can be recharged again easily & offers a greater life to your segway.

Dr. John Weidner, a professor of chemical engineering who developed the fuel cell-powered Segway with fellow chemical engineer Chuck Holland, say that they did this after they received $50,000 from the Greater Columbia Fuel Cell Challenge. They put the fuel cells on two segways, one of which was given to a state cop & the other for transportation in the university itself. Now the cops can use this for an entire shit of patrolling & not be bothered about charging it after every 3 hours.
The technology not only offers a great clean way of transportation but also gives the segway great commercial value by giving it better legs. While this technology is cool, if you want to see a really, really cool & stylish segway made from the stables of Italian car giants Ferrari themselves, then Click Here right now. Trust me; it’s more than worth taking a look & you would thank me for showing the way.
