The smallest country in South-East Asia will now be the largest solar manufacturing hub. Renewable Energy Corp (REC), a leading Norwegian solar energy company has decided to establish its new world-scale integrated solar manufacturing complex in Singapore ($6.3 billion solar plant). It will incorporate wafer, cell and module production facilities and will have the potential of becoming the world’s largest complex of its kind. Fully developed, the manufacturing complex could hold a production capacity of up to 1.5 GW.
Now that’s some big achievement for the smallest country. Not only will it help this country boost its economy, but side by side complement each other and propel Singapore’s semiconductor industry to a new level.
