Costa Rica airliner does its bit to save the environment

costa rica

Environmentalists may cry over global warming and carbon emissions eating away the world but that sure won’t stop people from traveling and having exotic holidays. It’s a known fact that airlines bombarding the skies are also responsible for global warming and very few airlines are taking measures to reduce this impact.

Costa Rica airliner, Nature Air is an exception in this case. Touted to be the world’s first and only zero emission airliner, the airline claims to have offset 20,000 tons of carbon emissions by saving 500 acres of the country’d lush Osa Peninsula. The airline pays the local landowners to preserve the threatened portions of the jungle. The airline has also joined the World Heritage Alliance to support community development around the World Heritage sites and to educate passengers about the sustainable travel.

It’s a good sign to see airlines getting involved in such projects to make amends for the disasters they are responsible for and hopefully this will set an example for other airlines to follow.
