So, scientists have come up with a solution that can eventually replace both generators and batteries! – the HydroPak Fuel Cell.
The new portable power generator is not just zero emissions, but is lightweight and creates minimal noise pollution. It can provide up to 14 hours of power with a single $20 disposable water-activated cartridge, which has a shelf life of several years.
Still a beta, the device is relatively inexpensive compared to any fuel cell product. In addition to the disposable cartridges, the power generator costs around $400. A water-activated cartridge can be used to power everything from portable lights, notebook computers or even your portable televisions for a total of 14 long continuous hours. That’s pretty useful!
