Just last week, we did a gig about a portable Fuel Cell charger called the G2 which was capable of producing enough juice to charge our cellphones for a few times before it’s fuel source had to be replaced. After some digging around, we found another similar contraption from Medis Technologies. This fuel cell which produces enough power to charge phones and iPods has an intelligent innovation built into it. Instead of storing oxygen, this fuel cell actually uses the oxygen from the surrounding at atmosphere to combine with the hydrogen to produce electricity. This makes this fuel cell very light and small, thus allowing it be ultra portable. But the huge downside to this device is that it cannot be recharged. So once it runs out of juice, you have no option but to bin it. That makes it a very limited means of power. So, until Medis Technologies gets it’s act together and gives their Fuel Cell the capability of being recharged, we don’t see this fuel cell becoming popular anytime too soon.
