EcoFactor: A concept car by Nissan at the Paris Motor Show, Nuvu is an all-electric car for three that has integrated solar panels.

If you are thinking about how another concept car is really useful as most of them never make it beyond the drawing board, then think again. This is the Nissan Nuvu, and its prototype has already stolen some hearts at the Paris Motor Show. The Nissan Nuvu is a delightful and bright little concept that integrates solar technology and an all-electric powertrain with a very cute and compact design. Nuvu just seems like a snap out of the world of Walt Disney, and it is pretty hard not to fall for it. The car’s roof sports around a dozen solar panels to generate power for its electric engine. The Nuvu gives you a completely emission-free ride, and its magical interiors and daft dashboard make it a real delight.

The Nuvu can accommodate three people and looks like a perfect commuting vehicle for city life with a top speed of around 75 mph and a range of 80 miles on a single charge. It has two lithium-ion batteries, and we are sure the solar panels will help make the drive a lot longer, as they can charge on the go. The concept car is likely to hit production around 2010 with some modifications to the current prototype.

The Dark Side:

All we can say at this point is that we are eagerly waiting for the day the Nuvu hits the road. The car seems like a bundle of joy, indeed.
