EcoFactor: A magnificent tower taking shape in Dubai that provides ample natural lighting and wonderful air circulation to make sure energy consumption is reduced.
LAVA is a firm that is coming up with this spectacular new tower for Dubai, and if LAVA had their way, there would be six more of such spectacular towers across the world. Described as the Michael Schumacher World Champion Tower, the company is planning to build a series of seven spectacular skyscrapers in collaboration with the former seven-time F1 World Champion. The tower will be 59 stories high and draws its inspiration from the consistent and accurate lines that Schumacher’s Ferrari took in his acclaimed career. While the tower sports a unique design with a base that is wide to ensure stability, its lavish and luxurious interiors are built for the select few. The structure, though, incorporates a few green features with ample natural lighting, good air circulation and a wonderful water management structure.
More than being an ecological wonder, the structure steals your heart for being an architectural masterpiece. The building is slated to take final shape by 2011.
The Dark Side:
Apart from a slight effort to go green, which only seems like a mere side-effect, the building is hardly an example for eco-architecture. While it is understandable that Michael Schumacher is involved with the project, as his name elevates the marketing value, it is an absolute insult to our intelligence to say that the building draws inspiration from F1 cars and his driving style!
