Eco Factor: Solar-powered car developed by the University of Michigan.

With the World Solar Challenge to be organized in October this year, universities all around the world have started unveiling their solar-powered cars, with which they hope to grab first place. The University of Michigan is the latest to announce the development, which they call the Infinium.

The Infinium solar car is powered entirely by the solar panels covering the entire body of the sleek and lightweight car. The 600-pound car is made from a lightweight composite material that allows the car to reach a top speed of 80mph. Students are now raising money by seeking donations for the equipment and the cost to race in Australia, which will add up to $2.4 million.
