Eco Factor: Low-emission concept yacht.
Egypt-based design studio Pharos Marine has unveiled plans for a new low-emission concept yacht, dubbed the Orcageno, that is powered by a hydrogen diesel-electric system for low emissions. The axe-bow structure of the hull betters fuel-efficiency by reducing residence due to the low angle for entrance.
The 60m long ecofriendly yacht has a range of up to 1800 nautical miles at a speed of 18 knots, powered by its green engine. Since hydrogen fuel contains three times the energy found in diesel fuel, the yacht has a good operating range without polluting the ecosystem.
High safety standards are applied for the hydrogen tanks, which are well isolated and fabricated from stress resistant materials. The generator is powered by a hydrogen-diesel IC engine, which can be operated on either hydrogen or diesel to provide power.
