Eco Factor: Bike center aims to increase the popularity of bikes.
Swedish architecture firm We Are You have received the third prize for an international competition to design a bicycling center in Philadelphia. The bicycling center, dubbed Breakaway, aims to promote bicycling in all its forms and become a hotspot for bike commuters.
The façade of the building features slots to park bikes vertically and the entrance floor holds a public bike repair space where you can also hang out with your friends and take a bike-building course. The facility also provides space for a café and the upper floors hold showers and changing facilities for bike commuters.
