Volkswagen plans a hybrid version of Jetta by 2012

Eco Factor: Hybrid car with improved efficiency to hit the market in 2012.

Volkswagen has unveiled the 2011 Jetta at Times Square in New York. The all-new Golf-based sedan is 3.5 inches longer than the outgoing model. Ditching the earlier Jetta’s soft contours, the latest one incorporated a muscular look. The customers in the US will be able to make a choice from four different engines that include a 138-horsepower diesel engine, a 114-horsepower petrol engine, a 2.5-liter unit that produces 168 hp and a 2.0-liter TSI that generates 197 horsepower.

Volkswagen is gearing up to flood the market with its hybrid version in 2012. It is expected to offer class-up driving experience with great styling, design and efficiency. There hasn’t been many details regards the 100% electric Jetta as yet, but you can expect a luxurious ride with a ting of green.
