Eco Factor: Sustainable building minimizes energy consumption.
The Azouri Brothers have been approved by the local and district planning committees of Tel Aviv to construct the city’s first sustainable hi-rise building. The building’s first phase is expected to be completed by January. The 20-story Azouri Ecotower will maximize use of natural light and provide a healthy work environment.
The developers have stated that the building’s roof will be covered with solar panels and a wind turbine to generate on-site renewable energy. Moreover, over 16,000 liters of fresh water will be saved each day. Fresh air will circulate throughout the building to reduce energy spent on artificial circulation systems. The building will also use the latest in insulated glass that will reduce solar heat gain by 25 percent but allow 62 percent natural light to filter through.
Botanical gardens will also be placed on the 5th and the 20th floors of the building. The developers are also trying to use as much recycled material as possible in the construction.
