Eco Factor: Low-emission hybrid truck generates solar energy.
Delivery trucks that can be used in desert areas of Africa need to be entirely different than the ones we see on the highways. Auto designer Péter Iglói-Nagy has conceptualized an eco-friendly truck for these hard to reach areas that maximize the use of natural resources readily available in deserts.
Christened Mongo Desert Transporter, the low-emission truck is intended to be powered by a hybrid engine. The top and sides of the truck are covered with special solar panels, which generate electricity to recharge the onboard battery packs. The integration of solar panels makes sense considering the number of sunny days deserts have.
