Eco Factor: Electric racing car with race autonomy of 20 to 25 minutes.

The world’s fastest racing electric single-seater has made its debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Developed over a period of two-and-a-half-years, the Formulec EF01 is a teamwork of a number of quality partners like Segula Matra Technologies providing the technical coordination, the drivetrain developed by the same people behind the Exagon Furtive eGT and Andros ice-racers, lithium ion batteries from Saft and bodywork developed by the Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One team.

Reaching from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and obtaining a top speed greater than 250 km/h, this green coupe is opening new avenues for a new generation of motor racing. The lithium-ion Saft battery combined with the exceptional torque of the two SIEMENS electric motors provides race autonomy of 20 to 25 minutes. The single seater is being seen as a start for a new Formulec world series with over a dozen events on five continents, which will be launched in 2012.
