Eco Factor: Fuel-efficient car achieves an average of 74.8 miles per gallon.
Meet the world’s most fuel efficient car that has recently set a new Guinness World Record for the “longest distance traveled by a standard production passenger car on a single tank of fuel.” A Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion headed from Maidstone in Kent to the South of France and speeded back. It completed a distance of 1,526.63 miles without refueling.

The record maker sports aerodynamic shape, a lower ride height, stop-start anti-idling, longer gear ratios and low rolling resistance tires, which lead to achieving an average of 74.8 miles per gallon. What is even more remarkable is the fact that car made a record using a 1.6-liter engine, which is the smallest turbo-diesel offered by VW on the Passat.
