Eco Factor: Electric tricycle can carry load of up to 150 pounds.
In an attempt to replace carbon emitting cars used for short, local journeys with a greener alternative, Saul Griffith’s has designed an electric tricycle that can hold quite a lot. Christened the “Front End Ladder,” the tricycle runs at a speed of 20 mph (the legal limit for this type of vehicle) and can carry 150 pounds in addition to the rider. So, whether you are out with children for a picnic or busy shopping groceries, this green trike is your perfect companion.
Sporting a basket in front that can hold load of up to 150 pounds, the Front End Ladder utilizes a custom steering mechanism prevent from tipping over on tight turns. Griffith’s unique trike is a result of Onya Cycles, an internal project of OtherLab that he has to his name. The electric version of the trike would cost about $3,800, while the non-electric one will be priced at $2,500. This stunning electric tricycle hasn’t hit the market yet, as it still under development, but its beta-unit versions are available.
