Eco Factor: Solar power to light up Purdy Farm Christmas trees.
Stellar Solar has been contracted to power Christmas tree lots in Del Mar, Carlsbad and San Diego with renewable solar energy. The company has used its Mobile Solar Station to power the Christmas tree lots, which are believed to be the first in the world to be powered by renewable energy.
The Mobile Solar Station will be powering compact fluorescent lamps on the lot perimeter and the electric chain saws that are being used to trim customers’ trees.
