World’s Largest setup to Produce 13.8 Megawatts of Solar Electric Power

World’ largest producer and supplier of solar energy products, Kyocera Inc, along with Madrid based Avanzalia Solar, is soon setting up a ‘super large scale solar electric system’, to meet the electricity needs of 5,000 private household in Salamanca, Spain.

Built in 89 acres of land it is one of the largest setup for producing electricity using solar energy in the world. Being sole provider of photovoltaic modules for the plant, the company aims the electricity generation at a high 13.8 megawatts; a significant contribution towards society’s power needs.

This is not the only unique feature; the plant has been designed in a special way making it a central generating facility. To cater to a large number of remote households, the electricity will be distributed in the same way as in a commercial power plant.

Traditionally, to get the solar electric power, the consumers had to install their own individual setups, something that was not at all cost efficient.

The company is going to use ‘feed in tariff’ system for electricity distribution. The system, newly introduced to Spain and other European nations, where electric power companies would purchase electricity from them at a higher market rate.

This is yet another effort by the company to help preserve our environment using renewable energy.
The project starting on 18th of September will mark a significant milestone for Kyocera Inc. The company is hopeful about a rise in solar energy products, globally.
