Battery-run plane flies in the Japan air for the first time. No, it is neither a fantasy nor a dream toy for your kid. It is the first manned plane in the world that is powered by conventional dry-cell batteries
You may mistake the plane as a glider, because of its design. It has a single-seat gondola with a 31 meter wingspan and is powered by 160 long-lasting AA batteries. In a demonstration flight in Japan, the plane soared five meters above the ground. Covering a distance of 391 meters at a private airport, the plane stayed in the air for 59 seconds.
