Wei Zhengkang an Environment student after returning from Australia, Singapore and Japan invents what he calls the “rubbish killer”.
Against all odds even going against his own family this man is a prototype citizen who sees it as his duty to clean up the Chinese neighbourhood. He had been developing this new environmentally-friendly machine since 1998 at his small Pudong factory but it is only from last year that he has produced it commercially.
The machine sorts and pulverizes the waste inside the machine quietly, cleanly and odourlessly after the press of a button after which the small pieces are classified automatically into recyclable and non-recyclable waste. The machine grinds 50 tons of waste daily which is equal to the refuse generated each day by 50,000 city residents.
So successful it has become that it has been promoted by the government.
