Okay so the very thought of having no water in the flush when you answer nature’s call may not be all that appealing at once, but the fact remains that with the world running out of clean drinking water at a faster pace than President Bush is loosing supporters, waterless toilets and urinals may actually become a very common phenomenon. The Compost loo biologically digests waste to produce harmless compost as a waste product, alleviating the need to use water flushes. To get rid of the, er, odor the biological functions in a composting toilet have to be maintained at the correct levels. See, it doesn’t sound so gross when you word it properly. Just don’t try to imagine it’s functioning after you’ve eaten and you should do just fine!
