Wal-Mart seems to be going green rapidly, becoming the latest company to join the green revolution. It recently announced a plan to cut on packaging by 5% over five years. With a goal to save millions of pounds of trash from reaching landfills, starting the scheme in 2008, the retail giant will also save for itself $3.4bn (£1.78bn)!
From 2007, the retailer will give its buyers a “packaging scorecard” that will provide information on alternative forms of packaging. It will surely influence decisions on which products to stock.
