In the rat-race of reducing ‘carbon footprints’ across the world, and trying to keep up with the strongly-echoing buzzword ‘eco-friendly’, fuel cells are in the leading herd.
The industries are also trying to pick up with the rhythm to meet their customers’ demands and growing greenhouse gas emissions-awareness and global warming-concerns.
Cuing in these lines, Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited or CFCL — the Australian fuel cell developer – has joined hands with E.ON UK for developing a micro combined heat and power unit (microCHP), that incorporates CFCL’s fuel cell taking it right into the UK drawing rooms.
The partners also plans to develop and deploy ‘Beta’ CHP units, comprising CFCL’s fuel cell module fully integrated with a condensing boiler.
Though still at a trial stage, Bob Taylor, Managing Director of Energy Wholesale and Technology at E.ON UK is optimistic that this CFCL’s technology will make a difference in contributing towards the ailing environment.
Once in the market, this new technology is sure to assist government meet their carbon reduction targets in its own special bit.
