It’s amazing how technology can be so resourceful and put to such a wonderful use. The joint venture between Toshiba and Matsushita called TMDisplay, has announced its development of a 2.2 inch OLED display, something that can be extremely power-efficient and really long lasting. However, this one only utilizes one-tenth of the energy in comparison to the displays of similar size, and carries 60,000 hours of lifetime, which is 30 times longer than the lifespan of other TMDisplay models. Future plans include commercializing them on a 2.5-inch form for cellphones and other mobile devices. Honestly, the real treat will be on computer screens and TVs. Imagine an OLED flat- panel TV. LCD’s are no competition to these, as OLED looks way more stylish and is the best thing, as they use little electricity.
