Inspired by the jellyfishes, here is power generation happening undersea. This power plant, built by a group of Scottish industrial designers, is capable of converting the up-and-down flowing seawaves into electricity.
These wave turbines generate electricity with an average output amount of 200kW on average. Compared to other renewable energy power plants, this production is claimed to be a lot higher.
The wave turbine manufacturer, the Archimedes Wave Swing claims the device is the world’s most powerful and efficient wave converter. Electricity generated from these artificial jellyfishes, will serve the Portuguese grid first. And, once successful, Scotland and England wil also receive some of its produced energy.
