The Terminus hybrid bike will soon be made available by M55

M55 Terminus

It’s been almost five years that M55 is designing its Terminus hybrid bike model. They had showcased a version of that bike at the Top Marques 2011 which was held in Monaco this April. But, now it seems that the development phase of the Terminus is coming to an end and people will soon have a chance to buy this bike for themselves.

The Terminus that you see today is a result of six stages of evolution. Different frames, components and batteries were tried on the bike before settling on the things that are used today on the Terminus. To make the body of the Terminus tough and suitable for cross-country biking, it has been made from 7075 Aluminum frame. Other than that, the front of the the Terminus features a DT Swiss Axle hub. A KMC X1 chain developed for the gear hub is located in the rear of the bike. The bike tyres are fitted on a pair of Syncros 26 inch rims with DT Alpine II Spokes.

The Terminus has been designed to be a bike with exceptional performance and great looks. It is a hybrid bike which means a combination of human and electric power is used to drive the bike. The electric power of the bike comes from the onboard A123 Polymer lithium-ion battery cells that are hidden within the frame of the bike. Buyers can choose the type of motor they want to have in their bike. They have the option of choosing from 250 to 1500 watts BLDC Electric Motor Units. Depending on the type of motor fitted on the bike, weight of the rider and chosen gear ratios, top speed of the bike will be in the range of 25-42 mph (40-67 km/h).

The terminus will be made available in five limited batches of 55 each bikes each. Different batches of bikes will have different features. For instance, the third batch will have custom made bikes. The second batch will be a Biceps model which would come with one-of-a-kind biceps single arm front suspension system while the first batch will have a White Brothers Groove 160 double-crown fork at the front. Naturally, the price of the different batches will also differ from one another. For instance, the price of the first batch would be around $36,000 while the price of the Biceps model would be somewhat more than $37,000.
