The Suzuki Kizashi EcoCharge Concept model will be unveiled at the 2011 New York Auto Show, along with the turbocharged Kizashi Apex Concept, this week. An electric propulsion system has been made to work along with a 144HP 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline engine. The electric propulsion system has been injected with a liquid-cooled 15-kW motor/generator unit which is further connected to an air-cooled lithium-ion battery that pumps out 115-volt of power.
The concept is out to embrace the ‘save fuel’ slogan with the help of technologies that will push it ahead on this mission. Regenerative braking, a start/stop system, fuel cut-off during deceleration events and low-rolling resistance tires will make sure that fuel is utilized in an apt manner sans any kind of wastage. The company has announced that the archetype as compared to the standard Kizashi will provide 25 percent enhanced fuel economy on the highway.
The coupe will come wedged with customized alloy wheels. Modified headlamps and LED fog lights will add more style to the facade. The Suzuki Kizashi EcoCharge Concept will come coated in stain paint design which will have a cleverly placed blue undercoat making the looks all the more attractive.
