Get ready to wear solar powered textiles! This eco-friendly way of clothing is recently being introduced by the Textile International Forum and Exhibition. Earlier, it has also showed eco-friendly gesture by introducing Textile Oven.
This unique solar power textile is foldable which is makes it ideal for clothing. Solar textile has the same softness of clothes. Thus, you can wear it tension free! Vice Director of Research Department at the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI), Mr. Lin Cheng-Chu stated that, “In the near future, bags or jackets made with solar textiles will provide electricity for PDAs, cellphones or digital media players.”
To make the e-textiles more interesting, TTRi has also launched foldable capacitor with same features. It has also combines clothing as solar textile. Experts are estimating that the release of foldable capacitor in the market will have a huge impact on products related to wearable electronic.
Mr Lin is planning to materialize the solar textile technology in the coming two years.
