Solar panel stick-ons makes it so(lar) easy

Many of us intend to harness sun’s energy for optimum usage. But since the whole process of installing solar panels on the roof isn’t that effortless, we have been excusing ourselves from it. But now here’s an easy way out with the Lumeta’s Power-Ply 380 solar panel stickers. Bid adieu to roof racks, brackets and other cumbersome hardware as these newest solar panels as simple as stick-ons. The product’s adhesive back allows it to be installed about twice as fast as conventional rack-mounted solar panels. Since solar needs to become part of the building envelope and this is the most motivating a step towards that. Developed by DRI Energy, the panels can be literally slapped on to any flat roof.

(Their promotional video shows two people putting together a six-panel grid in 34 minutes. They place the solar mat and simply plug in!)
The only hitch is that it by sticking flat on the roof they lose the optimal angle to the sun. They are also not impervious to the elements and can ironically sustain heat damage from sun’s radiation. But with no constructing costs, I believe that these stick-ons will be a great hit! As of yet, the stickers aren’t available for home installations, but Lumeta does provide a panel system designed to integrate also with the much-in-use terra-cotta tiles.
