400 Pakistani villages will soon be illuminated by solar energy. Solar power will be electrifying 300 of the country’s villages in Balochistan and 100 in Sindh. With the solar energy project being defended by the Asian Development Bank in the Pakistan’s Planning Commission, its funding is being done by the Government of Pakistan.

The drought-hit, Bharmal village suffering a shortage of fuel wood, will now be able to give its children light to help them study during the night, and help women do their embroidery work, as each poor family has to spend Rs 600-800 per month on just oil for lighting a home!

Now, with the installation of solar energy, every family of a solar-power privileged village contributes Rs 100 per month to help maintenance the project.
