Usually solar energy is only associated with daytime application. Though there are options of storing this energy for utilizing later through the day, it doesn’t really work out well. The freshest news is that MIT researchers have cranked up an innovative, efficient yet inexpensive method of storing the generous solar energy for latter usage. Learning a few lessons form the photosynthesis of plants, the researchers at MIT have hit upon an ingenious method that will allow the sun’s energy to be used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen gases. Later, the oxygen and hydrogen may be recombined inside a fuel cell, creating carbon-free electricity to power your house or your electric car, day or night.
