It is the age of the green vehicles and they are taking over from the traditional ones powered by conventional energy. Of course, it is not that the new ones run on their own and have to be powered. But they do ease a burden off of the planet’s shoulders by getting their juices from alternate sources of energy. This Concept, solar panel studded Carport is designed exactly for that and also a lot more!
The LifePort, a DIY kit consists of a 22 x 22-foot steel frame with a solar panel up top has the goods to generate about 4.8 mwh per year. That is pretty much the same amount of energy an average home consumes each year. I’m thinking it is better to have one of these to power my place than rely on the highly unreliable conventional power. It comes with outlets compatible with all plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles that are on the market today. So when you finally have your Chevy Volt, you’ll be able to fuel it up right in the garage, with enough leftover for the rest of the gadgets you’ve left on all the time.
The whole thing I’m sure comes at no cheap price and could well be too expensive for most to afford. While that is not something to be happy about, it does allow the few guys will buy that Chevy Volt to power it up. (Oh come on! They could bay the car, they can surely afford this)
