Eco Factor: Installation made from recycled plastic water bottles and food wrap.
Today we see streets littered with plastic waste, most of which comes from our efforts to keep ourselves healthy by drinking packaged water that comes in plastic bottles. Plastic waste can take thousands of years to decompose, before which it pollutes water and if burnt it pollutes the air as well.
While avoiding the use of plastic water bottles completely is the best way to get rid of the problems, recycling the waste that is already polluting the resources can also help the environment. Eco-conscious designer Carrie Ungerman has come up with an installation that makes us believe that trash can also be made to look beautiful if it gets an artist’s touch.
Carrie’s Silverflow installation has been made using discarded plastic that includes empty plastic water bottles, plastic food wrap and Mylar. The materials, which otherwise would have entered the landfill, have now been given a glamorous touch to grace exhibitions and expos.
