Eco Factor: Old oil-drilling rig converted into a resort to get up close and personal with nature.

All the snorkelers and scuba divers coming to the Pacific Ocean to share swimming space with hundreds of species of multicolored tropical fish, sea turtles and other aquatic life will also get to relax in quarters, where they can spend some memorable moments surrounded by serene natural beauty. An old oil-drilling rig has been turned into a hotel where divers can sleep in between dives.

Dubbed the “Seaventures Dive Resort,” the hotel includes 25 small guest rooms for the adventure enthusiast to grab some rest and gear up for the next dive. Sitting over the crystal clear water of the Celebes Sea, the resort has spotlessly clean rooms, tough you might have to bear with the smell of the oil powering the generator.

Fresh and tasty food and an employee band playing great music would make the trip unforgettable. A three-day, two-night scuba-diving package would cost you just $516. Although this recycling isn’t as green as one would wish, but it could open avenues for greener oil-rig-turned-hotel.
