Eco Factor: Full-service EV charging solution for home and commercial use.
Schneider Electric recently announced plans for electric vehicle charging solutions at Plug-In 2010 conference. This global energy management leader will provide a complete spectrum of EV charging infrastructure, smart-grid integration, services and management in one complete solution as a step towards speeding adoption of EVs globally.
Rich Korthauer, Schneider’s business director proudly exhibited the Level I and II Square D charging stations that offer a cheaper and easy-to-use solution for charging electric vehicles at home, in apartment complexes or condominiums. In addition, the other charges showed off were Level 2 chargers designed for use in commercial parking lots and Level 3 fast chargers.
In April 2010, Schneider Electric announced that it will provide 135 electric vehicle chargers for the plug-in hybrid vehicle trial in Strasbourg, France being conducted by EDF and Toyota. Recently, the company collaborated with urban mobility specialist Parkeon to provide local authority clients with a unique solution to manage urban parking facilities integrated with an electrical vehicle charging infrastructure. Schneider also plans to encourage people to park their vehicle in a paid parking close to the charger, where the EVs will be charged up for free.
