Ricoh unveils Europe’s first eco friendly billboard powered by wind and solar energy

Ricoh Eco Board
Ricoh Europe, a pioneer in office solutions, has recently launched the Europe’s first sustainable billboard ‘eco-board’ that would be powered completely by solar and wind energy. Ricoh has already launched their very first eco-board at Times Square last year and this one will be the second launch. The billboard will illuminate only after having collected sufficient energy from wind and sun, the two renewable and abundant energy resources. The eco-board has set a new trend for eco advertising and has infused a sense of responsibility of the advertising industry towards the environment.

This eco-board would be located on M4 highway that connects London to the London Heathrow airport and will be powered by 5 separate wind turbines and 96 solar panels. It will be visible to people traveling to London with Ricoh’s message for delivering their services with a sustainable approach.

Ricoh is a Fortune 500 company and a leader in technology and services. It provides efficient business processing solutions to high volume and high intensity organizations. The company is environmentally responsible and is committed to reducing the carbon footprint when it comes to reusing, recycling and using sustainable forms of energy. This is the reason why Ricoh’s European factories achieved the status of having sent zero waste to landfills in 2001. They do believe in meeting their production targets and profits but not at the cost of the planet.
