Eco Factor: Original water bottle is made from recycled glass and biodegradable bamboo.
It’s time to ditch your plastic bottle to choose instead a bamboo, glass alternative dubbed as the Original by its manufacturer Bamboo Bottle Company. The bottle comprises of a full glass insert with 60% recycled content. To protect it from accidental harm and also provide for insulation, the bottle has been wrapped in a cylinder of Phyllostachys Pubescens bamboo.
The company uses dishwasher-safe, FDA food grade, BPA-free plastics called high and low density polyethylene to fasten the inner glass with the outer bamboo. The glass used in the bottle can be easily recycled while the bamboo is biodegradable. The Original can hold 500 ml or 17 fluid oz within and costs around $25 USD.
