Eco Factor: Ship-shaped pavilion envisioned to support endangered animal species.

The Ark, conceived by Czech designer Jan Vranovsky, is an inventive pavilion for Prague Zoo in Troja. Aside from serving as a new entrance, a tearoom or a bike parking, the structure – touted as Human Pavilion – will be home to both humans and animals. Like the massive Noah’s Ark, the boat-shaped gazebo will seek to save endangered species.

The ship-shaped building is bound to be a business development, especially when parents and kids will show liking for the zoo animals. The wooden, wreck-like construction will feature functional and practical interior inside to complement outer nature. Simple wooden beams and columns create the inner part of the structure, which encloses itself in a protective shell made out of locally manufactured, glued flexed beams.
